Ipoh, Malaysia Trip (Day 4)

1st May 2017, Monday

Woke up around 7 plus....there were loud singing throughout the night....I went shower first before the other two woke up...keke...Dap was complaining she can't sleep cos Col was turning and tossing on the bed... :P....So we decided to do a switch on who to sleep on the same bed tonight. We headed out to have our breakfast at Restoran Foh San (富山茶楼). It was sooo crowded and we had to find table on our own. We managed to get a table on the 2nd level and went to order the dim sums we wanted to try. Finally, we settled down to eat the food....hungry hungry....It was nice too!!

After the nice and heavy dim sum, we headed out to walk around Ipoh and look around on the heritage buildings. First stop, we walked to the Ipoh Railway Station. The building was huge and the weather was super hot too...Then we walked to the war memorial statue, which was outside the railway station. We passed by the High Courts, City Hall and Clock Tower. After that, we walked to Old Town White Coffee cafe where we had some cold drinks to cool ourselves down. After we rested ourselves, we continued the walk again. We headed to see the clock tower and spent some time taking photos there. After that, we headed to The Concubine Lanes and walked there. The streets were busking with people and a lot of shops. We got a small pineapple to eat too...it's very sweet....yum yum...We also got a ice ball with lots of colours to share.

After that, we took cab to buy soya beancurd and milk (Funny Mountain Soya Bean) and the salted chicken from yesterday. As there was queue in the soya beancurd shop, we split out to buy salted chicken and met back at the hotel. We managed to buy the cooked salted chicken today and Deb, mi and Dap walked back to the hotel. We also bought some cut fruits back too. We headed to one of the hotel rooms to eat the food. The chicken was tasty and soft....it was no wonder people were willing to queue for it. The soya beancurd was smooth too but we found it too sweet.

After that, Qy, Deb, Dap and i went to Kek Look Tong cave while Col stayed in the hotel to rest. The cave was big and there were buddha statues placed inside for worshippers to pray. We spent some time enjoying the view there...but i was feeling sticky as it did rained for a while and the weather was humid too. Then we wanted to go to another temple but ended up in another temple named Miaw Yuan Chan Lin. It was a small temple where there was nothing much. So we went back to the hotel to rest before dinner time. We just watched tv until 6 pm and headed out for dinner.

We took cab to Restoran Onn Kee for bean sprouts chicken. Yum Yum chicken too, slightly salty though. After dinner, we went walking around the streets and bought some goodies. I bought 2 packets of ipoh coffee. After that, we rested at Tan Ngan Lo Herbal Tea. It was raining too. After the rest, we walked to a street where there were many stalls selling food to get some desserts. The road was dark dark...The stall we wanted to try was not opened so we got a ice dessert and pancakes.

We walked around and went to buy the famous dried hor fun at Tuck Kee Ipoh Sah Hor Fun (德记怡保沙河粉). We had to wait for some time for it too and we finally can go back to the hotel. When we reached the hotel, we enjoyed the hor fun...it was yummy!! After that, we went to the room and got ready for bed. Whole day of eating today.... really full from all the food...hahaaa....
